In many of our daily tasks, we do not need to use exact numbers. When we are using very huge numbers or numbers having lots of decimal positions, it is sometimes difficult to make a rounding so as to make calculations easier.
In the case of decimal numbers, we must first to decide how many positions we want to work with. Then, we analyse the first figure that is on the right of the figure that that we want to remove. If that figure is bigger than 5 or equal to 5, the last figure we want to keep increases 1. On the contrary, it stays the same. For instance:
